«There was an article quite a while ago (I believe it was from a Croatian publication) that mentioned that GV had taken up photography as a hobby after working on the Robert Capa documentary. There was mention that he’d taken some photos of Mekhi Phifer and that they would be part of an article about stars and their hobbies in Jane magazine. Well, as far as I know, the Jane magazine thing never happened but some of the photos of Mekhi have finally surfaced!

If you find yourself someplace where they sell ’Popular Photography and Imaging’ magazine check out page 13 of the May issue. There is a brief interview with GV and 3 of his photos of MP (two B&W and one color).

The «ER» Doctor also Operates Behind the Lens
Like so much in photography, it all started with Robert Capa. When the filmmakers behind the 2003 documentary Robert Capa: In Love and War needed a voice for the Hungarian-born photojournalist, Croatian actor Goran Visnjic was a likely candidate. «I started learning a lot about him to prepare,» says Visnjic, best-known for his role on NBC’s hit «ER.» «The camera he used was a Leica, so I thought I should get a camera and try to take some pictures.»

So the actor bought a Leica M7 and 24mm lens, started taking photos with it, and fell into a pattern some of us know so well.

«I was like, ’Maybe I should get that 50mm with an aperture of f/1 so I can shoot with no flash [the Leica Noctilux-M]. And then I thought, maybe I need a 90mm for some close-ups.» Then came the lightmeter. And more lenses. In two years, Visnjic has gone from a photo newbie to photo store hangout.

There is also a caption by the photos: «Shooting Mekhi (Phifer) was quite easy, because he’s an actor, so I didn’t have to tell him ’Do this, do that.’»

я уже это добавила на сайте в разделе новости , что 18 июля Горан и Ной будут учавствовать в серии игр по бильярду ,которое будет у них по кабельному ТВ.

Yep, he really did. It was obvious MR was the one JR was most enthusiastic about meeting too, lol.

JR is a fan of ER, and I think that was a good thing because he seemed to have a more genuine enthusiasm for finding out how they do the effects, trying out the fake de-fib paddles on the dummy (anyone else think that was really just a blow-up doll at first glance? ) etc than someone who never watches the show and has just been given a vague idea of what goes on.
(I liked the little sound effect GV did for the sternal saw, lol.)

GV explained that early on in the show someone was shocked for real with the de-fib paddles (they weren't hurt though), so now they make sure the batteries are removed etc. Is that where Deb shocking Carter came into it?

They discussed how Luka got his name, GV explained they first chose a name he couldn't stand, something weird and unpronounceable (said something about it sounding more Serbian than Croatian when you know the difference), but when asked what it was he said he couldn't remember. Then he said he came up with a list of 5 first and last names for them, and made them all unpronouncable except 'Luka' and 'Kovac' so they'd have to pick that one.

After GV said he's staying for 2 more years, JR said he understands actors wanting to move on etc, but at the same time as a fan of the show he likes the characters to stay, so he hopes GV will stay a bit longer.

JR also said TDE was 'fabulous' and that he thought it was a 'tremendous film', and that he suspects GV chooses movies for complex roles. GV said he liked TDE because it gave him the opportunity to do a complex role, said it was really compelling to do a role like that with the switch from bad to good etc (and he thinks Tilda Swinton is excellent, btw).

GV said he doesn't get crazily too many offers, he trys to choose something that'll be good for him to do, something he hasn't done before, he checks out the scripts first etc. Said he doesn't have a preference of drama/comedy/thriller etc, it's about the script, whose directing etc.

The 4 Poofs and a Piano played 'Doctor Doctor' when GV came on, JR tried out some Croatian on GV to welcome him and apparently did a half-decent job with it. He referred to GV as 'the impossibly handsome Goran Visnjic', and after the interview remarked 'what a charming guest'.

I'm curious about the ER people who might be visiting Croatia. If it's just friends, then ok, it's a holiday - but if it's members of tptb...I don't want to get my hopes up, but the idea of them checking out areas to film in is a really nice one, lol....but GV said absolutely nothing about it being work-related, so I'll just happily dream about that one.

TV Guide for June 5-11 (Patrick Dempsey cover) contains a feature on 'TV's Sexiest Men'. Naturally, GV is there with a very fine full page photo along with comments from LC about him.

The text:
'The handsome doctor is such a stereotype, like the heroic fireman. But Goran really is tall, dark and handsome. He's also intelligent, empathetic, and a little bit mysterious. Maybe it's his accent. He's such a strong, dignified man; he harkens back to the classic movie stars like Gregory Peck. And he's so polite! The first time our characters did a love scene, I had to go topless. We have these stickers on the set that read, "It's my special day! I've had an X-ray!" So I stuck one on each breast. When I took my shirt off, the crew started laughing, but Goran was so polite, so intent on looking only into my eyes, that he was the last one to see them.'

Noah Wyle shoot his last season of ER and his co-workers gave him unexpected kisses; his last episode airs in june.

Nostalgia and sadness are the tone in the set of one of the most well-known series in the world. The actors and actress of ER say goodbye to the last member of the original cast, Noah Wyle, in his 11th season.

"It's very sad, but we are happy for him", says his co-worker from the last four years, Goran Vusjnic, who plays Dr. Luka Kovac. (Compaсero is more than a co-worker, but it's not a friend either. Correct word would be partner, in the cop context, not the gay one. )

"He is very happy with his familly and you can see it. He is excited to start new projects and we are happy that he is leaving the show because of that".


For newbie Linda Cardellini, who plays nurse Samantha Taggart, Wyle's departure will be more noted in set. She say he was the one the cast looked at. "He is our stone, he was was always there for everybod. I'm happy for him".

As part of the farewell, the cast of the series planned to give Wyle a big kiss, each one in different moments, before the end of his last day shooting. The first one was Linda, who grabbed him without warning and made him blush. She did it twice.

A couple of minutes later it was Goran's turn. "We were shooting a scene and I had to tell Carter to act like if he was suprised, so I could open the door. When we were about to enter the room, I said my line and I jumped to kiss him, and the only thing he could do was to retry down. He said he was suspicious, because it (their "kiss) was after five of six hours of several people pulling the same prank. But we (the cast) did it, we all managed to fool him".

(Before you start asking, yes, the article says the first one to start the kiss thing was Linda, and that Goran had his turn a couple of minutes later, but yet Goran says when it was his turn Noah had been through it for fve or six hours)

The actors did not confirm the rumors that Wyle will be back for some episode in season 12, excusing themselves saying they don't know what will happen in future episodes. (Riiiiiiight).

Noah Wyle leaves ER after 11 years and 246 episodes. He joins a serie of actors who became famous because of this series (ER) that caused comotion in its premiere and broke records of audiencepresenting the day life at the ER of a public hopsital in Chicago, at the United States.

Mixing the personal life of doctors and nurses with the lifes of the occasional and recurring patients, ER managed to move the viewers and since the beggining pleased the audience.

The first to leave the emergecy room was Dr. Ross, played by George Clooney, now a superstar; then Julianna Margulies (Carol Hathaway), Peter Benton (Eriq LaSalle) and Mark Greene (Anthony Edwards).

In a couple of weeks viewers will be able to watch Wyle's last performance (as Carter) in the episode called "The Show Must Go On" that will be aired in june by Warner Chanel.

Ming-Na, star of NBC's upcoming drama Inconceivable, and husband Michael Zee are expecting their second child in the fall, it was announced Friday.
The Chinese-born actress already has a 4-year-old daughter, Michaela.
Ming-Na, 41, next stars as Rachel, the co-founder of a fertility clinic in Inconceivable, which will air on Fridays on NBC in the fall. The series also stars Alfre Woodard and Jonathan Cake.
